Home Care in Jurupa Valley, CA

If your parents are anything like ours, they worked hard for what they have. They sacrificed their comfort and convenience to build a better life for you, their community, and their economy. Now that they're in their golden years, don't they deserve to unwind and enjoy life?

Of course, the answer to that question is a resounding "yes." But as our parents and loved ones get older, they often need extra help around home to prepare meals and take medicines. They need a trusted caregiver who can take them to appointments and fun outings, like visiting Jensen Alvarado Historic Ranch and Museum in Jurupa Valley.

In today's day and age, however, it's hard for many seniors to rely on their adult children for caregiving. After all, they have their own lives and families. Their time is already spread, thin and they're not exactly professional caregivers, either. In these all-too-common situations, home care in Jurupa Valley from a trusted source like Citrus Senior Care starts to make a lot of sense.

At Citrus Senior Care, our in-home care services are personalized for seniors and designed for those who wish to age at home but require reliable, compassionate care that their family members cannot provide. Today, most seniors prefer to reside in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable. Long-term care and nursing facilities often bring unwanted and unneeded change, which can lead to anxiety and a range of other issues. If you or your senior loved one wants to avoid care facilities and thrive at home as they age gracefully, senior home care is a safe and secure way to get them the care they need.

The Citrus Senior Care Difference

As a local home care agency in Jurupa Valley, every member of our staff - from our caregivers to our care coordinators to the president of our company - takes pride in providing seniors a happy, healthy life at home. One reason why many seniors and their families choose our services is that our highly-trained home care aides (HCA) go beyond just changing bedsheets and preparing meals. They prioritize one-on-one care and foster personal connections with patients.

Rather than diminishing independence among our senior population in California, we focus on maximizing it. That goal isn't always supported by assisted living facilities and nursing homes. In fact, in recent years, many of those facilities have become more expensive and less caring and are often associated with spreading diseases and sickness.

Citrus Senior Care offers a more emotionally and financially relieving option, whether you're in search of minor assistance at home or more comprehensive services like companion or respite care.

We also prioritize communication and collaboration and work closely with our clients, their families, and their medical teams to ensure we're providing the best possible care. We offer a wide range of services to meet the diverse needs of our clients, including:

  • In-Home Care Services
  • Companion Care Services
  • Personal Care Services
  • Respite Care Services
  • Medication Management Services
  • Homemaker Services

Understanding In-Home Care Services in Jurupa Valley

They say that home is where the heart is, and for most seniors in the U.S., that saying absolutely rings true. Home provides a certain sense of safety, comfort, and familiarity. It makes sense, then, that three out of four older people prefer living at home and within their communities than in a care facility, according to AARP.

The simple truth is that the natural aging process can make it difficult to maintain independent living at home. Many seniors in their 60s and 70s need help with household tasks, especially when their children live far away. Basic activities like running errands or visiting Le Chat Noir French Restaurant in Jurupa Valley become more challenging due to mobility issues. Preparing nutritious meals and managing medications and appointments can also pose difficulties. Safety becomes a concern, and family members may be worried about the well-being of their loved ones. In such circumstances, in-home care often serves as an ideal solution. It enables seniors to maintain personal independence while receiving reliable assistance from a trained caregiver.

Citrus Senior Care offers a wide range of home care services to help seniors maintain their well-being while getting the support they need to remain independent. If your older family members require additional assistance to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle, providing them with the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to demonstrate your love, even from a distance.

5 Ways to Pay for Home Care in Jurupa Valley

As our family members grow older, they may require help with everyday tasks. Senior home care services can offer the assistance needed for seniors to maintain a comfortable lifestyle in their own homes as they age. However, the financial implications of home care services can be substantial and may pose a significant challenge for many families. It makes sense then that one of the first questions we get at Citrus Senior Care is how seniors and their families can pay for the home care they need.

Long-term care insurance is a policy you purchase in advance to help cover future care either at home or in senior living settings. Each policy varies, but generally, seniors can start receiving benefits once they are no longer able to independently perform two activities of daily living (ADLs). Depending on the plan that is purchased, long-term insurance may cover some or all of the following types of care:

  • In-Home Care
  • Home Health Care
  • Respite Care
  • Hospice Care

One of the most common ways to pay for in-home care services is with personal funds. To do so, some families must negotiate senior care costs or set up payment plans with their home care agency of choice. While not suitable for every family, these funds may come from a variety of sources, including:

  • Stock Income
  • Personal Savings
  • Funds from a 401(k) Plan or Retirement Income
  • Money Made from Selling Personal Items or a Home

For seniors with low income, Medicaid might provide coverage for certain home care services based on their place of residence. Numerous states have Medicaid programs that encompass both medical and non-medical in-home care services for qualifying seniors. For instance, certain states administer a waiver program for home and community-based services. That program may include particular non-medical services for seniors residing at home, such as assistance with daily living activities. Get in touch with your state's Medicaid office to obtain more details about specific programs, benefits, and eligibility criteria.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) provides many programs to assist military veterans and their surviving spouses with in-home care payment. Some examples of VA Home and Community Based Services programs that could cover in-home care expenses are as follows:

  • Veteran-Directed Care Programs
  • Respite Care Programs
  • Home-Based Primary Care Programs

Families should consult a VA social worker to determine which program best suits their needs, as the qualifications and services covered vary for each program.

Some programs offer financial assistance or respite care for family caregivers who provide home care services to their loved ones.

It's important to research and consider all options before choosing how to pay for senior home care. With proper planning and support, families can find the best solution to ensure their loved ones receive the care they need to age comfortably and safely in their own homes.

At Citrus Senior Care, we know that money doesn't grow on trees. We also know that paying for quality senior in-home care can be challenging. We want to provide your senior with the non-medical home care services they've earned at a reasonable price. Contact our home care organization today to speak with one of our friendly representatives about paying for home care and the options that may be on the table for you.

In a milestone moment for high school sports, AB Hernandez, a transgender athlete from Jurupa Valley High School in California, made history at the Roosevelt Invitational track meet over the weekend. Competing in the long jump and triple jump events, Hernandez not only dominated her competition but also set the highest outdoor long jump mark in the nation for a female athlete.

Hernandez’s performance was remarkable as she won in the long jump by nearly two feet and claimed the triple jump title with an even more commanding margin of three feet. This latest feat adds to her already impressive season, where she has consistently outperformed competitors by significant distances.

A High School Season Of Unstoppable Momentum

The Roosevelt Invitational wasn’t the first time AB Hernandez turned heads this season. Just weeks ago, she shattered the Ontario Relays Division 3 girls’ long jump record, winning by an astounding eight feet. Her dominance on the track and field circuit has fueled her ambition to become a state champion, a goal she is well on her way to achieving.

“Hopefully, I hit a 41 [footer] this year if it’s possible. Preferably at state so that I can possibly win,” Hernandez shared with the media, reflecting on her aspirations for the season.

California’s early outdoor track season has already seen impressive competition, with states like Florida also hosting major meets. However, AB Hernandez’s commanding performances suggest she may remain the athlete to beat as the season progresses.

Her success comes amid ongoing national debates over transgender athletes in women’s sports. Former President Donald Trump recently introduced the “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports” Act, which has faced resistance in states like California, where Governor Gavin Newsom has vowed noncompliance. The federal government, in response, has threatened to cut funding and investigate the state’s adherence to Title IX.

Despite the political controversy, AB Hernandez continues to focus on her athletic career, setting records and pushing boundaries in high school track and field. With the season still young, all eyes will be on her as she aims for further historic achievements.

Firefighters are battling a brush fire that has burned approximately 38 acres of vegetation as of writing in the Santa Ana River bottom near Pedley Road and Van Buren Boulevard in Jurupa Valley, Riverside County. The fire started late Tuesday afternoon, January 21, 2025.

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, the Clay Fire was first reported around 4:45 p.m. in the Clay Street and Van Buren Boulevard area, along the boundary that separates Riverside and Jurupa Valley. The fire, driven by offshore winds gusting up to 30 mph, moved toward homes along Bradford Street, prompting a brief evacuation warning for nearby residents.

Multiple firefighting units, including 25 engines, one water tender, three bulldozers, and five hand crews, were deployed to combat the fire. Due to the onset of darkness, no Cal Fire aircraft were utilized. As of Wednesday, 45% was contained, with crews of 165 firefighters working overnight to secure a perimeter and conduct mop-up operations. Roughly one-third of the burned area is within the city of Riverside.

Schwarzenegger says he's donating $1 million for wildfire relief

Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday announced he's donating $1 million toward wildfire relief efforts in Los Angeles County, and the former California governor unveiled a new "L.A. Strong" T-shirt whose proceeds will also be donated.

In a social media post, Schwarzenegger said the $1 million will be divided between the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the California Fire Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.

"I don't like when companies or rich people ask their fans to make their donations for them," he wrote.

But I know you want to help. So I had my team design a shirt. 100% of the profits will go to those organizations. The shirt might look familiar - it’s based on an LA classic they sell to tourists on the Venice boardwalk, except I can use my image: https://t.co/RcIBqbkOnP

La Cañada Flintridge shows gratitude for pre-deployed firefighters

La Cañada Flintridge was one of several communities that was forced to evacuate during the Eaton Fire, and on Monday residents threw a pop-up appreciation party for fighters who were pre-deployed this week ahead of another round of powerful winds.

"I've been doing this since 1997 and I've never seen a show of support like this," Cal Fire Battalion Chief Joshua Rivers told ABC7.

The impromptu event was organized at La Cañada High School, where pizza, ice cream, snacks, and even takeout food from a Porto's Bakery were served in the gymnasium.

"The whole city -- everybody's trying to help," said Cynthia Xue, one of the residents who donated food.
